FAQs
Q. Do you require an appointment?
A. Yes! Whether you are a bride, bridesmaid, mother of the wedding, or groomsmen, we want to give you the best experience helping you with your big day. An appointment ensures you have your own dedicated consultant and comfortable seating while in our boutique.
Q. How long is a bridal appointment?
A. Our bridal appointments are an hour and a half for your first time in our boutique. Most brides have found their gown in around an hour. If you are coming to revisit your favorites, the appointment will be 1 hour.
Q. What can I expect for my bridal appointment?
A dedicated consultant will take the bride by themselves (yes, by themselves) through the gowns where the bride can touch and see what styles they are interested in trying on. The consultant will assist the bride in the fitting room with putting gowns on and taking them off. Guests of the bride are discouraged from looking through the gowns as to keep the attention on the bride. Don’t worry guests, we are a small boutique and you will be able to see all the dresses we are pulling from.
Q. When should I order my gown?
A. Our bridal gowns take 4-6 months to arrive in store as they are made to order. We suggest ordering 9-12 months before your wedding date in order to allow time for shipping and alterations. Bridesmaid and Mother of the Wedding dresses take about 4 months to arrive in store. We do have an beautiful selection of ready-to-wear gowns for moms and guests to take home with you that day!
Q. My wedding is coming up very soon, can I still find a gown at Marien Mae?
A. Yes! We have a great selection of sample gowns to purchase and take home with you today. Many of our companies have expedited shipping options for an additional fee as well. Just let us know when scheduling your appointment, that way we can help you find the perfect dress in time!
Q. How many guests am I able to bring to my appointment?
A. We recommend bringing 2-4 guests. We do have a limit of bride + 5 guests at this time. If you would like to bring a larger group, please call in advance to your appointment so we can make accommodations for you.
Marien Mae advice:
You will want to have your favorite and most valued opinions here for your appointment, so make sure they are with you when you find “the one.” If distance is an issue, we do allow FaceTime.
Q. What size are your bridal gowns to try on?
A. While staying true as a boutique, we have a wonderful size selection here at Marien Mae. Our samples range from size 8-30 with a really great plus size selection. We are an EveryBody/EveryBride retailer with Essense of Australia offering a variety of gowns in sizes 18+ to try on.
Q. Do you have in-house alterations?
A. Because we are a small boutique, we do not have an in-house seamstress. We do have recommendations for seamstresses in our area, or you may use whomever you prefer.
Q. What is a Trunk Show?
A. Simply put, a trunk show is where one of our companies sends us their newest collection of gowns that we typically don’t carry in our boutique. That means brides have more variety to choose from. Trunk shows are by appointment only.
Q. Are children welcome?
A. Yes! Children are a special part of most weddings and we are more than happy to have them at Marien Mae for your appointment. However, please understand our boutique is not child-proof and we don’t want them to be disruptive to your appointment or others. We do have an adorable selection of ringer bearer options.
For bridal appointments, we highly recommend NOT bringing small children unless necessary and they must be counted in your guest limit of bride + 5 guests. Little ones tend to get distracted during the hour and a half appointment and we want to make sure the bride is getting the attention she deserves while finding her perfect dress! If the kid or kiddos do disrupt the appointment or the appointment of others we will kindly ask to reschedule the appointment for another time.
Q. Do you offer beverages?
We only offer bottles of water at this time. Customers are more than welcome to bring in their beverages of choice. We ask to please refrain from bringing in red wine. Customers will also need to bring in their own drinkware.
Q. Am I supposed to tip my consultant?
Marien Mae employees will never ask for a tip nor will you see an option to tip at check out. The biggest tip to give your consultant is a 5 star review!
